First Grade Field Trip

Our first graders went to a play at St Charles High School West today to see Winnie the Pooh. After the play they played in a neighborhood park near the school and then came to school to have a picnic lunch in their rooms.

Proud to Announce: Mrs. Perry is Teacher of the Year for East Elementary!

Mrs. Perry, first grade teacher, was announced as Teacher of the Year at East Elementary. Our other fabulous nominees were Mrs. Winkelmann, first grade teacher, Mrs. Shepherd, Title 1 teacher, and Mrs. Moore, kindergarten teacher.

Mrs. Perry has wanted to be a teacher since she was in first grade. She has proof, too. Her parents found a piece of her first grade writing and had it framed for her.

In her application Mrs. Perry describes her love of teaching and how she has grown during her eight years as a teacher. Her staff knows her as the infectious teacher who loves to learn herself. We are proud to have her as our Teacher of the Year!

A Morning in First Grade

First graders were very busy learning today. With kindergarten screening going on, sometimes it is difficult to stay on task. Not with these students!

Kindergarten Screening

All this week teachers, Parents As Teachers, admin, and our counselor will be talking to pre kindergarten students and parents about school readiness. Students are screened using the DIAL 3 and other assessments.
