About Dr. Steffes

Dr. Steffes has been in education since 1989, not counting 1965-1977, when she was in school in Marceline, Missouri.  She is a 1989 graduate of Columbia College, a 2000 and a 2007 graduate of Lincoln University and 2013 graduate of  Saint Louis University with a doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Dr. Steffes has been married since 1977 to her high school sweetheart, Bob, who is a retired middle school principal at Lewis and Clark Middle School in Jefferson City.  They have one daughter, Ashley, who is married and a college professor at Indiana University in the Textiles and Apparel Management Department.  Her husband Eric is a student at IU.

Dr. Steffes has two dogsons, Wilson and Truman.  Wilson is a West Highland White Terrier and Truman is a King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Friese mix.

When not at school, Dr. Steffes loves to spend time reading.  She usually has four books going at the same time.  Right now most of her reading focuses on professional reading but from time to time she gets to sneak in a book for fun!

She likes to cook and eat and travel!  Writing is her passion and she maintains seven blogs!!  You can see why she likes to read what students write!
